It turns out I am the type of person who can spend eight hours at an outlet mall and buy nothing but lunch.

I do the same thing. When I'm in the store, I take everything that catches my eye, and usually, I find reasons why NOT to buy them (e.g. makes me look short/fat/slouchy/baggy, not machine wash-friendly, doesn't match anything I own, etc.) and I leave the store with nothing bought about 80% of the time. =)
